MV Miss Moon

Miss Moon is a popular diving liveaboard that visits Myanmar’s Mergui Archipelago and the best dive sites of Thailand. There is a selection of itineraries throughout the season, and because there’s room for just ten divers trips fill up quickly. The team have been operating for a very long time, and therefore they are experienced in offering the best trips. The focus is more on value than on luxury, but the team and crew are very service minded.

There are just five cabins on Miss Moon, all on the main deck. At the front is the master cabin, which has air conditioning, a private bathroom and a flat-screen tv. Behind the master cabin there are three twin-bunk cabins and a double-bed cabin. The twin cabins have two fans each and the double has air conditioning as well as fans. They share communal bathrooms on the same deck. Further back is the galley, where the cooks create delicious meals every day. Diving is hungry work, and the food prepared on Miss Moon will ensure that everyone is very well fed. This includes vegans, vegetarians and other special dietary needs, but please inform the team in advance. Miss Moon is a purpose-built scuba diving liveaboard, so at the rear of the main deck is the dive platform, where gear is stored and divers can take a safe & easy step into the crystal clear waters of The Andaman Sea.

Miss Moon’s itineraries are another reason to make the boat stand out from others. In addition to it sailing from Ranong (on the Burmese border) there are three different itineraries on offer. Two of these go into Myanmar, and one stays in Thailand. The Myanmar trips are 6 & 8 days in length, and they go far into the Mergui Archipelago. You’re likely to be on the only diving liveaboard in Myanmar at each dive site you visit. The trip that stays in Thailand goes to The Surin Islands, Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon, & Koh Tachai. It’s three nights and has 11 awesome dives.

Dive briefings, meals, and general socialising is done on the boat’s upper deck. There’s plenty of seating for meals and/or relaxing over a drink. There’s a large tv, although with the view, the company and long days diving, it’s rarely needed. Also, there’s a unique sundeck which has its own refrigerator.
