MV White Manta Overview

MV White Manta is the largest and newest purpose-built diving yacht offering Similan Islands & Richelieu Rock diving safaris. At 46 metres in length, with a steel hull, and launched in 2019, she is safe, reliable & stable in all conditions, and offers up-to-date conveniences and technologies. Diving with MV White Manta is excellent value, with luxurious facilities and plenty of space.
One of the most important aspects of liveaboard diving vessels is their size and design. Other than using more fuel, there are no drawbacks to being the biggest ship out there. Stability on rough seas and space on board are both important for people spending several days or more out at sea. MV White Manta is a big boat, making her stable & comfortable, while enabling the designers to make the cabins and dining and lounge areas large enough for guests to relax and enjoy their cruise. Moreover, unlike most Similan Islands diving boats, it has a full steel hull. There are two motorized dinghies to transport guests to and from beaches and reefs.
MV White Manta was designed by divers, for divers. Therefore every aspect concerned with entering or exiting the water, storing & cleaning equipment & filling tanks has been carefully thought out. There is also a large and dedicated photographers' room, which has plenty of space and all the necessary facilities for budding amateur & professional photographers to deal with their equipment. Between dives is a luxurious experience, as there are several places to relax, socialize, sunbathe, or view or edit photos and videos from the diving. There are al-fresco and air-conditioned dining areas, as well as large comfortable cabins. Sundecks and multimedia tv areas add to the choice of what to do on board. Satellite communication enables 24-hour Wi-Fi, and there's even a massage service. Non-diving passengers, including children, are very welcome aboard and will enjoy the cruise even if they don’t get wet.
Up to 24 guests can join each trip, in a selection of cabin sizes all within reach of most budgets. When diving in Thailand, White Manta cabins are limited to two guests, even if some appear to have four beds in them. The experienced crew includes an expert chef and even a masseuse. All have lots of experience in providing a service to ensure safety and enjoyment. Two motorized dinghies are used to retrieve divers who surface away from the main boat, and all the staff and crew are experienced professionals. Although the whole reason for going diving is to relax and have fun, safety is paramount at all times.
Although White Manta trips are often advertised elsewhere as 5D/4N and 6D/5N, we feel that this is misleading. The 14-dive trips span 5 calendar days, but are 90-92 hours in length. The 18-dive trips span 6 calendar days but are in fact 115 hours long. Therefore we refer to them as 4D/4N and 5D/5N.
A wide range of PADI courses are available on board. Nitrox is available too, and there is the option of paying per-fill or taking advantage of the ‘full-cruise’ Nitrox promotional price. Finally White Manta diving tours in the Similan Islands are sometimes available at last-minute discounted rates, so please check back regularly. However, due to its popularity, trips are often full, so book early to guarantee your space. All in all, MV White Manta has the perfect balance of comfort, size, luxury and price to make any Similan Islands / Richelieu Rock diving trip one to remember.
