MV Gentle Giant Overview
Since a recent full renovation, Gentle Giant now has 10 cabins, each accommodating no more than two guests. All of the cabins have a private en suite bathroom, a window, a door that opens out onto the deck, air conditioning and a mini safe/security box. There are also several areas where you can relax on board, alone or with others. These include the sundeck, dining area and saloon lounge. The boat is large enough to offer comfort, stability and space to for you to walk around. But it’s also small enough to ensure that guests socialise with each other, fuel isn’t wasted, and it’s manoeuvrable.
The sundeck is large, and there are several sun loungers and bean bags. You can top up your sun tan or enjoy the clear star-filled night sky. The upper deck has the master cabin and two standard cabins. Also on the upper deck is the dining area, where delicious meals are enjoyed and dive briefings held. And let’s not forget the lounge saloon that has air-conditioning, a TV, and sofa. Guests usually use this room for showing photos and videos, but some come in to watch a movie or to just get out of the heat for a while.
Gentle Giant’s main deck has the large deluxe cabin at the front, and six standard cabins. In the middle of the main deck is the kitchen, where the chefs make delicious food that will ensure you never go hungry. The meals are served buffet style, and vegetarians need not worry about missing out. If you have any other special dietary requirements, just let us know. Soft drinks, tea, coffee & water are all included in the price, and beer is available at competitive prices. At the rear of the main deck is the dive platform. This area is crucial in making a diving liveaboard trip good or bad. A well-designed dive platform gives everyone space, and ensures that immediately before & after each dive the you feel safe and happy. Gentle Giant doesn’t disappoint here!
All of the trips plan to visit Similan Islands, Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon & Koh Tachai. But the longer (6-night) trips also visit Hin Daeng, Koh Haa, Koh Phi Phi & Phuket.

MV Gentle Giant Itinerary
The itineraries for Gentle Giant begin with an evening departure, the first dive is the following morning.
For the 2025-2026 high season there are two very similar itineraries.
The 5D / 4N trips Go to The Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai & Richelieu Rock.
The 7D / 6N trips also go to The Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock, and then Koh Phi Phi, Phuket, Koh Haa, Hin Daeng & Hin Muang.
Please note that some trips start in Khao Lak and end in Phuket, and others start in Phuket and end in Khao Lak.
The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.
MV Gentle Giant Transfer Details
There are free scheduled transfers from most of Phuket and Khao Lak available during the hours just before departure. Gentle Giant departs from Phuket for some trips, and from Khao Lak for other trips.
At the end of your trip, the team will transfer you to a selection of locations around Phuket Island, and in some cases around Khao Lak.

The booking policy for Gentle Giant is very simple.
First ask us about availbility of your chosen cabin and trip dates. Then we can block space(s) for you, commitment free and without charge or even your card details.
When you are ready to confirm, we ask for 35% deposit.
Nowadays, most of our guests choose to pay via a direct domestic bank transfer. This gives the very best exchange rate and there are usually no fees. This is possible because we have bank accounts in USD, EUR, GBP. AUD, NZD & THB.
45 days before departure, we ask for the remaining 65% of the trip price.
We have accounts in many currencies such as USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, SGD, AUD, HKD, CHF, SEK, DKK, JPY, CZK, PLN, MYR, CNY, NOK & NZD. Other currencies are becoming available to us, so please ask if you can't see which currency is ideal for you. We also accept credit card payments through PayPal.
Extras such as equipment rental or park fees are paid on board, normally in cash.
If you need to cancel your booking, what you have already paid is forfeited to the owner of the boat but it is possible to transfer your booking to someone else. Also, we will do all we can to resell the space(s) and/or give some refund as compensation. Travel insurance usually covers these situations.
