Similan Islands Liveaboards Thailand: 9 out of 10 based on 542 scuba diver ratings.

Blog

Here is where we post articles which may be of interest to anyone who is interested in Similan Islands diving. From time to time we are able to offer substantial discounts for last-minute bookings or well in advance which can be found on our Similan Islands Special offers page. In addition, there’s season-long Similan Islands information that can enable divers and potential divers to better understand their different options when choosing a Similan liveaboard. This isn’t just about being in the water, either. Some people like to travel on a budget, and others like to pay for minimum inconvenience. We try our best to give as many details as possible in order for those wanting to dive in the Similan Islands or Richelieu Rock to make the best decision that suits their needs. Finally, there is a section for relevant news topics which may affect (or not) the diving situation in and around the Similan Islands. It’s not uncommon for those in other countries and continents to hear something on the news and worry (or not) unnecessarily. Our news section is impartial and honest at all times.

The Similan & Surin Islands National Parks are now closed for the low/monsoon season until October 15th 2016. Similan Diving Tours, our partners, and our guests have just enjoyed & wonderful, enjoyable and record-breaking season. Thank you, everyone for making it possible.

Bow view Nemo 1 Liveaboar dive noatLast week the Similan Diving Tours team went out to visit Koh Tachai, Koh Bon & The Similan Islands, and had a wonderful time on board MV Nemo 1. Our sales and SEO Webmaster teams went along with their families. A great time was had by all - including non-divers and children. As expected, the itinerary went according to plan and all on time.

scuba diving with manta rays intro‘Manta March’ is almost upon us but islands including Koh Bon are already enjoying regular visits of several Manta Rays at a time. With Chinese New Year 2016 now over, the busy period has continued, with many of our boats still full for the coming days and weeks. Now really is the time to visit The Similan Islands to enjoy perfect diving conditions and the area’s most famous big fish.

best taxi service khao lakMost of our guests require some kind of transport or transfer from (or back to) Phuket Airport or other locations before or after a Similan diving cruise. We have partnered up with the taxi company who we feel offers the best value, safety & comfort for private taxi transfers. Cheaper Than Hotel Taxis is now our preferred private transfer operator.

the similans are open introAfter our busiest and most successful pre-season booking period, we are ready for the grand opening of the 2015-16 diving season in The Similan Islands (inc. Koh Bon & Koh Tachai) & The Surin Islands (inc. Richelieu Rock). The weather has calmed down, and the smog from Indonesia’s forest fires dissipated just in time for what we feel will be an awesome diving season in the south of Thailand.

In just a few weeks from now, Thailand’s Similan & Surin National Marine Parks will open, and we are counting down the days until October 15th 2015. The opening of the marine parks enables the public to go diving once again, after being closed for five long months. Not all of our 40+ boats will sail out on the first day, but one or two will. The lucky guests on board MV Dolphin Queen and Deep Andaman Queen will be the first to see the amazing marine life, hidden from the public eye during the monsoon months.

season review 2014 2015Yet another diving season has come to an end at The Similan Islands (inc. Richelieu Rock). For us and many others it was the best season so far. Hundreds of happy guests enjoyed day trips and liveaboard cruises, sharing their time underwater with some fantastic marine life.
