Merdeka 3 Overview
For relaxing trips to different locations, with scuba diving included, Merdeka 3 ticks all of the boxes! The boat offers trips on the south & east sides of Phuket that include scuba diving, but also offer much more. There’s kayaking, beach visits, snorkelling, massage and some alcohol all included in the trip price. You can even try out scuba diving for free if you have never done it before.
The boat has six cabins, which all have air-conditiong & most have private en suite bathrooms. Four double cabins have large sea-view windows. Plus there are bunk cabins at the rear of the main deck.
The 31-metre boat has staggered decks, giving it a nice character & style. The middle of the boat has 4 cabins on its lower deck, and the chill-out and massage area above. This area is shaded, but gives panoramic views and a wonderful sea breeze. The rear of the boat’s upper deck is where the guests chill and socialise, and enjoy the delicious meals and beer & cocktails which are free of charge. The front of the boat has a large sunbathing deck, and below that are the kitchen and staff quarters.
Merdeka 3 offers the best trips, for divers and non-divers. It avoids the crowds, by visiting dive spots before the day-trip boats arrive from Phuket, thus ensuring most times that you will have the dive sites to yourselves. Then later in the day the other activities include visiting caves & beaches on tropical islands, or enjoying Koh Phi Phi’s nightlife. Most liveaboard boats in the area go north-west of Phuket to The Similan Islands, but Merdeka 3 goes in the opposite direction and visits areas which are normally only dived by day trip boats. Therefore, by avoiding the crowds you get the best experience. During the high season Merdeka 3 goes to Koh Haa & Hin Daeng, as well as Koh Phi Phi. Then during the low season it goes to The Racha/Raya Islands & Koh Phi Phi. Trips are 5D/4N in length, leaving every Monday morning and coming back on Friday lunchtime.

Merdeka 3 Courses
A selection of scuba diving courses is available on Merdeka 3 at very competitive rates. These need to be pre-booked to give the team time to prepare the schedule, staff and materials. And if you have never dived before and join as a non-diver, you can try scuba diving for free on board.
Merdeka 3 Itinerary
There are two itineraries on Merdeka 3. The boat departs from Chalong Pier in Phuket every Monday morning, returning on Friday lunchtime.
During the low season (May - October) the boat sails to Racha Yai & Racha Noi, south of Phuket, then across to the world-famous Phi Phi islands.
In the high season (October - May) Merdeka 3 goes to Koh Phi Phi, then Koh Haa, Koh Rok and Hin Daeng & Hin Muang.
The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.
Merdeka 3 Transfer Details
The team ask guests to arrive at the dive centre before 10.00am on the first day of the trip.
If you would like the team to send a taxi to your Phuket hotel, this can be arranged in advance, and paid for on arrival.

A 30% deposit is required to confirm your booking, and the balance is due one month before the trip’s departure date. Customer cancellations made more than one month before departure are normally eligible for a full refund. Customer cancellations less than one month before the trip are considered on a case-by-case basis.
