MY Genesis 1

One of the best-known liveaboard boats out at the Similan Islands & Richelieu Rock is MY Genesis 1. She is a standard-size steel-hull vessel at 25 metres in length. With never more than twelve passengers on board there is plenty of room to relax and move around, and be spoiled by her friendly and professional crew of eight. The boat’s large dive platform is at water level, making entries and exits safe and easy. While safety comes first at all times, fun and enjoyment are extremely important on Genesis liveaboard cruises.

Each cabin is air-conditioned and has its own controller, ensuring that everyone gets a comfortable night’s sleep in preparation for the following day’s diving. There are five twin cabins and two single, each having a sea view window. When not sleeping or in the water, MY Genesis has several areas to relax or socialize, and to enjoy the fresh and tasty food on offer. Both local and international dishes are served and everything is cooked fresh every day. Prices are very competitive, but safety and service standards remain very high.

Taking into account the size of the boat compared to how many guests join each trip, Genesis is a great option. It is a favourite among divers who travel alone, pairs or friends and families. With free Nitrox fills, it's also excellent value, although not so cheap to attract many backpacker divers.

MY Genesis 1 departs from Khao Lak in the morning and guests dive three times on the first day. There’s no need to spend a night at sea before the first dive. For those who are unsure about whether to dive at the world-famous and popular Similan Islands or the more challenging Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, there’s the option of diving at both!
